In keeping with our purpose and meaning for our show’s theme and our tribute to the men and women currently serving in our armed forces, on October 15, Mr. Williams invited all of the band students to take time to participate in the “Welcome Home a Hero” program.
This program serves to welcome our service men and women home as they arrive at DFW airport. For the students and the entire Williams family who came out to greet the soldiers returning from Afghanistan, it was another way this years' marching show has reached to honor them beyond the field of competition.

Wow! What a great weekend. Our Mighty Panther Band placed 1st in Marching and 2nd Overall in the Aledo Marching Competition. We finished less than one point (.72) behind first place Saginaw. This marks a huge step for our program. This contest was one of the more competitive showcases in North Texas and the directors are so proud of what our kids were able to do. A big thank you for all of the support you showed in the stands and in helping get things set up and moved.
Last Friday, our kids also performed in a superior fashion with the way they handled the situation before halftime. After the lights went out at Panther Stadium, our kids followed our emergency procedures very well, ensuring the safety of all of the band students. Our student leaders demonstrated outstanding leadership in a very chaotic event. All of the band students are to be commended for the way they maintained their poise and maturity. Mr. Williams also wants to thank all of the family members who helped gather our belongings out of the stands. You were a big help.

During the UIL Region 7 Performance and the Finals performance at the Midlothian Marching Showcase, Aerial Outfitters took aerial photographs of our band. Aerial Outfitters’ air & ground crew is made up of alumni representing The University of Texas Showband of the Southwest and the Texas Tech Goin' Band from Raider Land.
They are pleased to be able to offer an aerial photo of our band for sale with a portion of the proceeds returning to support our band program. The MPB will receive 10% of the profit from orders received via their website if ordered through Monday, November 14. You can find them on the web at: www.aerialoutfitters.com. Click on "View your Event & Order Prints" and choose either UIL or Midlothian, and find North Crowley. There are several different shots to choose from for each. (You will need to go to the first photo and click on "North Crowley" and more will show up to view.)

MPB finishes 7th out of 27 bands.
The directors want to express their sincerest appreciation for the great turnout for our Midlothian competition last Saturday. Your support with our logistics and the support from the stands during our performance was fantastic. You really made a difference in our performance. They are so proud of our band.
A couple of notes to consider; All music, marching, and percussion judges had us as a top 10 band. In prelims and finals, we had at least three judges place us in the top five in those categories. The point is that this was not an easy set of judges or an easy set of bands to compete against. We were judged against perennial Area and State finalists from around North Texas and we demonstrated a high level of achievement for our program.
