General Information

MARCHING BAND
The NCHS Mighty Panther Marching Band is comprised of students from the Wind Ensemble, Honors Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Color Guard, and includes all grades 9-12.  All students are provided an opportunity to march.

Performers are determined by demonstrating mastery of the selected music, marching fundamentals, eligibility, attitude/discipline, and attendance.  Students who do not demonstrate high abilities in all five categories will be placed as a Shadow (or Alternate) to a primary marcher.  Shadows may challenge the primary marcher for the sport by Wednesday of the performance week.  Students who are ineligible due to academic failure are not permitted to challenge or participate in any marching band performance.  Shadows may also be called upon to assist with moving equipment or props during and before/after the performance.

Once a student has been accepted into the marching band, he/she must abide with the policies in this handbook, and must meet all eligibility requirements in order to qualify for marching positions.  The marching band will perform at all football games, pep rallies parades, and special events.
